Traumatic Brain Injury Consumer Advisory Group
Vision TBI are calling for those with lived experience of Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). The team is looking for eight people to help the organisation understand what education, information and research is needed to help people with TBI and their carers.
About the project/vacancy
Vision TBI is a newly founded not-for-profit organisation with the aim of improving lives for patients and their families following TBI of all severities. The team is forming an advisory group of those with lived experience of TBI to help steer research and educational information created on TBI for the community.
About the position
Vision TBI are looking for people aged over 18 to join a Consumer Advisory Group. The team seeks diversity within the group and is looking for those with lived experience of TBI whether it be themselves, a family member, friend or carer. The team welcomes applications from any gender and from diverse cultural backgrounds.
What am I expected to do?
As a member of the Consumer Advisory Group, you will attend meetings 2 – 3 times per year, and:
- Identify information which would be good for people with TBI and the community to know
- Advise on the best way to convey information to people with lived experience of TBI
- Identify areas you think need more research
What skills or experience do I need?
This group is for people who have experienced a TBI or those who have a close family member or friend who has experienced a TBI.
How long am I expected to be involved?
2 – 3 years
Where will meetings be held?
Meetings will be held online via Zoom
What support is offered?
You will be offered a $35 per hour honorarium. The Consumer and Community Involvement Program also offers support and training to consumers and community members.
